Jenah Ross Shank
A STRUM, A STORY & A SONG
Singing With A Servant's Heart
For Jenah Shank, it’s always about the story.
Whether weaving through countless news articles she’s drafted over a long career in journalism or within the lyrics she’s penned since childhood, Jenah’s words can carry you through tales and testimonies unfolding with each line she writes, every strum of her guitar.
Her words illustrate that she was born to be a writer - and an award-winning one at that, having received nods and accolades from the Associated Press and other organizations.
Her songs continue to garner thousands of streams and downloads as her album sales remain steady. She participates in various benefit efforts and has shared her songs at churches, coffee houses, youth events and venues across the country.
Her music royalties have helped send disadvantaged youth to summer camp, and provide essential supplies to those in need.
In 2010, she and her husband Ron established a scholarship fund.
In 2012, the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown invited Jenah to sing for the ceremony recognizing the first Native American to be canonized, Kateri Tekakwitha. She actively participates in suicide survivor vigils.
Jenah and Ron have reached thousands of individuals through their work at the Truckers Ministry in Ohio.
Musicians contributing to her work include Nickie Keaggy, the Granati Brothers , Tracey Whorton, Sonny Cashbaugh, John Sferra and Phil Keaggy.
She is co-founder of Pink Out America, a 501(c)3 that sponsors music events for individuals with cancer or other serious illnesses, to celebrate survivors and recognize lives lost.
